You will be allotted 3 minutes to give your authorship speech. Use all of that time.
The purpose of this speech is not to read your resolution to your council, but to restate it in a condensed form with supporting reasons.
These factual supportive reasons can be in the form of hard data (27% of the children born in our country will not live to the age of 21, due to...), human interest (Mrs. T lives in a mountainous region of our country. She has given birth to seven children. Due to...), and logic (We cannot continue to permit the continued production of this product which is fatal to all humans and...). Unfortunately, logic does not always 'win', so your wits must be on call. (Especially when you are asked to defend your position!)
Utilize whatever resources you have available to you,

English teachers
computer teachers
and
ELP teachers
As you write this up is helpful to utilize a few basic debate tactics.
