USD 373 Student Distribution Request Guidelines

The following guidelines shall apply to the distribution of material to USD 373 students:
- Persons making a request to distribute material to USD 373 students shall complete a Student Distribution Request form.
- An exact copy of the intended material shall be provided along with the completed request form to the Public Information Office at least two weeks in advance of the requested date of distribution.
- Distribution requests must come from a local (Harvey County) source, or must be considered of significant local interest. USD 373 administration reserves the right to determine the criteria for “significant local interest.”
- Material must be submitted by a non-profit agency and/or must be non-profit in nature. Items promoting a commercial business or a for-profit event are not eligible for distribution.
- Items of a religious doctrinal nature are not eligible for distribution.
- Material that promotes activities or programs that duplicate or compete with those offered by Newton USD 373 are not eligible for distribution.
- USD 373 reserves the right to refuse to distribute materials deemed inappropriate, inflammatory, or in poor taste.
- Once approved, material to be distributed shall be delivered to the Public Information Office at least one week in advance of the desired distribution date.
- Approved material shall be provided in bound and labeled stacks for each school and grade. The Public Information Office shall provide a list of enrollment numbers once the material has been approved for distribution.
- Requests for specific distribution dates will be accommodated as able, but are not guaranteed.
- Items delivered directly to schools without prior approval of the Public Information Office will be discarded. Any person acting individually or on behalf of an organization, which knowingly and without permission attempts to deliver fliers directly to schools, forfeits future ability to distribute material to Newton USD 373 students.
