Book title: LEAVING FISHERS
Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix

In this book, a girl named Dorry makes new friends t her new school before finding out out they are involved in a cult called "Fishers of Men".  Their urging and her eagerness to fit in causes her to join.

I liked this book because it was very thought-provoking and raises awareness about cults and what can happen if you join one.

People who don't value happy endings where everything happens just right will like this book. (Hello, High School Musical!)

Book title:
So Be It
Author: Sarah Weeks

This book is about a girl who sets out to find out who she really is.  She also has a mentally retarded mother and tries to answer the secrets from her mother's past.

I liked this book because it is sorta a mystery and an adventure.  Heide has to work through hard times and never gives up.  She is also a great guesser.  She is very lucky.  It is really a fun book.

Who would like this book? Someone who likes mysteries or just a good book.  Also someone who won't give up and doesn't always like a happy ending.  Also someone who likes books that have a little twist at the end.

Book title:  Moon Runner

Author:  Carolyn Marsden

This book is about a girl named Mina who is a "girlie" girl but discovers she can run really fast.  She makes the track team but has to run against her friend who has always been the track star.

I liked this book because it is realistic fiction and is about friendship.  I also liked it because it did a good job explaining how it ruined their friendship.

I'd recommend this book for girls who like to read about close-to-real-life subjects.

Books are keys to wisdom's treasure;
Books are gates to lands of pleasure;
Books are paths that upward lead;
Books are friends. Come, let us read."
