This is the seventh year that Chisholm has implemented a teaming schedule. This schedule provides a "team" time for teachers to meet together on a daily basis. This time is utilized to plan interdisciplinary lessons, meet with students, meet with parents, talk about intramural issues, and plan special activities for students. Research supports the positive impact that this approach has upon student achievement. All four core area teachers are aware of all curriculum goals. Teachers can plan work loads and testing dates so not everyone gives a test on the same day. There are times that a single project can meet the needs of several classes. The social studies teachers grade content, while language arts teachers grade the same paper for research and writing skills, and the math teachers grade the quality of the graphs and mathematical accuracy.
Another unique aspect of the current schedule is a four hour block of uninterrupted learning. Each grade level has the ability to creatively schedule their classes as complete grade activity. Click on "Schedule" on the main page to view this year's schedule.
