PURPOSE OF PROGRAM – To provide a caring, loving, safe environment with developmentally appropriate activities for young children while parents tend to work responsibilities.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES – Children are served in six classrooms. Placement is determined by age and space availability. Infant Classroom routines are flexible and generally dictated by the child’s needs. Stimulating activities are planned and active exploration is encouraged. The staff in the toddler classroom are sensitive to the toddlers needs to practice emerging skills, acquire language and learn appropriate social behaviors. A variety of age appropriate toys and activities are provided and planned. Preschoolers and kindergarteners are served in an environment, which allows children to learn through play and active exploration and to interact with adults, children and a wide variety of materials. Morning activities are structured to include sharing, group time, creative activities and outside play.
Balanced meals are planned and prepared at Newton Medical Center. Two snacks are served and breakfast is offered to children who arrive early.
SCHEDULE OF SERVICE DELIVERY – Children are served on a full-time basis Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Center is closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS – Children must be between six weeks and 6 years of age. Parents must comply with enrollment procedures and provide current health assessment and immunization record.
FEES – Determine by age of child. SRS, Youthville & St. Francis foster children are accepted.
