Parents as Teachers
A free and voluntary program designed to assist parents and children in getting the best possible start in life.
It is for anyone living in Newton, Hesston or Halstead/Bentley, pregnancy through age 3.
- Personal Visits - By certified parent educators, to help parents understand what to expect at each stage of their child's development
- Screenings - A standardized look at each child to be sure they are developing in all areas as desired and provide early detection of potential problems.
- Group Meetings - Where parents gain new insights and share experiences, or participate in parent-child activities.
- Resource Network - Access to other services, such as newsletters, books, videos, other professionals and area-wide programs that may benefit the child's needs.
