This is a book about a girl named Quia. She is 12 years old and lives at a place called Devils Rock.  Her mother died 6 months ago and her dad is a lighthouse keeper so he can’t leave the lighthouse. During a storm a ship wrecked and Quia found a baby floating in the water. She took the baby to her dad and they named her Celia which means “gift from the sea”. Celia loves seals so much that she almost fell down the cliff but was saved.

It is about a seventeen year old teen named Brian. His parents have been divorced for over a year. Once, when he flew to visit his dad in Canada the plane crashed in a forest. Over a couple of months he spent his time in the forest.  This book is the sequel to Hatchet.
